Raw mistakes is a fast-paced, engaging contemporary romance novel that explores love, loss, self-discovery and redemption amongst the scenic Italian lakes and weddings. It was an absolutely brilliant rollercoaster ride of emotions and feelings.
The story follows Bree Morgan, who is a wedding planner. Her youth was completely immersed in jobs without any hope for love or relationship. However, she did have a casual relationship with a guy named Murray over a period of time, who turned out to be double-timing her. Then we are introduced to Petra, who was always looking for scraps of appreciation and affection from her father and the ultimate caretaker of her siblings despite the ill-treatment she got in return. With the introduction of other characters, their narration was about to build up a crescendo of emotions. But things were changing for all of them.
As the story progresses, their lives become intermingled, with new-found love and hope making its way. But each time, it has crossroads and challenges. It will resonate with people who have been in similar phases of their lives.
I completed this book in a single sitting, and oh my…. It was so worth it. Trust me when I say it’s well over five hundred pages, and I loved every bit of it. Both Bree and Petra were so utterly unlucky when it came to finding honest boyfriends. All the relationships that broke off were the fault of those lying, stupid and two-faced men. The book’s other characters, especially Carla’s narrative, are my favourite. The story’s pacing is totally engaging, and the way the author truly grips the reader’s attention is commendable. It’s her unique writing style that shows pure dedication towards her characters and the in-depth picturesque scenery of beautiful places in its vividness and compelling manner. I only gave the initial two characters’ stories and did not say much about the others because it’s absolutely related, and it could be spoilers.
All I can say is that to fully appreciate the author’s work, you need to witness and feel the story unravelling its events and emotions by reading it yourself.
If you are a reader looking for a gripping storyline that lets you experience love, loss, redemption and hope along with other emotional resonance and understanding, then this book is your ultimate stop for the search. This is the first book in the “Raw Mistakes” series which cements the commencement of the exciting course of events and situations.
