Writing is my best source of energy, excitement, frustration, and sometimes inner peace. There are moments when I’m writing an emotional scene or tackling a chapter that need intense concentration as I have to think back to a complicated or long storyline that becomes my enemy. I find myself unable to stop typing until I reach the end of that plot or story. I guess then, if that happens, I can’t sleep, so it’s safe to say that reading exhausts me, too. Who needs rest when you’re in the writing zone, right?
When life interrupts my writing flow, I become restless and anxious. I need to work on my book to soothe my nerves. Today, I have lunch plans with friends, and while I know I’ll have a good time, I can’t help but feel the pull of my computer. Two hours away from writing or editing feels like an eternity. But hey, a writer’s got to do what a writer’s got to do! They may even have a story or two to tell me that will give me some ideas.
