Selecting my favourite character from my second novel is like trying to choose a favourite dessert – nearly impossible, but oh so delicious. However, if I absolutely had to choose, it would have to be Young Zac’s story. He made an appearance in book one, but his background was never explored. I loved the way his and Nik’s stories intertwined during their teenage years, adding a juicy layer of complexity to their friendship with the adults in the story. It was a story that kept me glued to my keyboard late into the night. And let’s not forget about his father, Christos – I loved him so much that I just had to keep him around for the next novels, too.
Another standout character in book two has to be Kia. Perhaps it’s because a dear friend of mine inspired his character, especially his physical description, although his job description in the books is purely fictional. I’m just saying, I mean, we wouldn’t want my friend to get arrested unexpectedly, based on my imagination, would we?
So, here’s to the colourful cast of characters that make my novels come alive—they’re like old friends that I can’t wait to introduce to my readers. Cheers to that!
