Questions about my story lines

I must confess, my novels have seen more makeovers in the writing process than a Hollywood starlet on Oscar night. With each round of edits, my characters grow, plot twists change, and settings hop from one country to the next. It’s like a never-ending game of chess, trying to figure out who did what, when, and where, all while adding a little extra pzazz and boom to their personalities.

Currently, I’m knee-deep in checking the storyline of book four, navigating through a maze of copy-and-paste fun as I move stories around.

I often catch myself chuckling at characters having conversations with strangers, mourning the not-yet-deceased, or falling head over heels for a character who won’t make their grand entrance for another hundred pages. The real challenge comes in crafting the perfect ending, rearranging storylines like a jigsaw puzzle until it all clicks into place.

As for looking back on published works and second-guessing myself, here goes.

Honestly, I try to avoid dwelling on it. What’s done is done, right? No use crying over spilt milk or, in my case, wine. Sure, there are moments when I ponder little tweaks that could have amped up the sequel, but if it doesn’t fit, I’ll just save it for the next adventure. I’ll take it on the chin and move on to the next big storyline instead.

Happy reading!
